Kathmandu, June 7. Ukraine scored twice in the second half to beat Slovakia 2-1 in the 2024 European Championship. Ivan Silany scored in the 17th minute to give Slovakia the lead in the match held in Dusseldorf, Germany on Friday night.
Slovakia held the lead in the first half but were unable to capitalize in the second.
In the second half, Ukraine pulled back and scored two goals. In the 54th minute, Mykola Saparenko equalized for Ukraine. Then Roman Yaremchuk scored in the 80th minute and Ukraine won 2-1.
After losing the first game to Romania, Ukraine won their first game and has three points from two games in Group E.
This was Slovakia’s first defeat, having been beaten 1-0 by Belgium in their opening match.
