Ukraine plans to build the Kanevsk Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEP) underground, a project that has been under development since the 1980s, but its realization was hampered by the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Russian invasion. In an interview with the “Liga” portal, Ihor Sirota, general director of the energy company “Ukrhidroenergo”, explained that moving the power plant underground would protect it from Russian missile attacks.
