In Germany’s first goal against Scotland, the ball hit by Florian Wirtz was travelling at 108.14 kilometres per hour, while the ball rotates approximately 15 times per second.

This was announced by UEFA based on data provided by “Connected Ball Technology”. For Wirtz, this was his first goal for the German team in his first major international tournament.

The 21-year-old became the youngest German player to score at the European Championships, breaking the record previously held by Kai Harwick.
