French games publisher Ubisoft has admitted that it has delayed and cancelled many game releases over the past few years due to the large number of games it was developing simultaneously.
“We canceled several games because we had to make room for other games that were in development at the company, and that helped other games that were progressing well,” CEO Yves Guillemot said during a quarterly earnings call with investors on Feb. 16.
according to ReportLast month, Ubisoft canceled three more projects as it copes with lost revenue and focuses on long-term growth. In addition, it previously delayed the release of Skull & Bones for the sixth time, which raised a lot of questions. The game is now scheduled to be released in 2024.

When discussing the plans, Guillemot mentioned that “right now we feel like we have the right number of games because we have a lot of games coming out in fiscal 2024, which also makes room for other games that the company is going to launch.”
