Maryane was responsible for the styling and interior decoration of the house. The vanity, mirror and bathtub are all custom made. The owners used work by local artists that reflects the earthy red tones of the local farmland. A huge outdoor entertainment space is equipped with an outdoor dishwasher and projector for movie nights. A year later, a century-old shed was converted into a meditation space perfect for light exercise. They also spent $60,000 to build a recovery area, including a sauna, hot tub and ice bath.

“It’s very, very popular because people don’t have to leave the area. They actually go there and then they have a full day spa experience,” she said.

They built a huge outdoor fire pit so people can enjoy a fire and roast marshmallows while looking out over the pool and views. The property has at least 20 varieties of fruit trees and they continue to plant more, most recently adding bananas.

Since the renovation was completed, Marianne has managed the holiday home as a rental property, and hearing the reactions from guests makes it all worthwhile. “Hearing people say ‘Wow, this is amazing’… that’s what we wanted to do,” she said.

Stonehill Estate has been invited to shoot commercial photos for commercials and TV pilots, charging $2,000 per day. A minimum stay of two nights is required to stay at the property, and prices range from $3,000 to $3,500 per night, depending on the season.

Marian said the families had celebrated many milestones and barbecues together, however, because the property was so popular, they probably didn’t celebrate enough.

They have put the property up for sale as they begin looking for their next project 157 Warwick Park Road With LJ Hooker Kingscliff, the starting price guide is $6 million.

Selling agent Nick Witheriff said the property was breathtakingly beautiful and close to the Gold Coast Airport and Cabarita Beach, but without the high price tag of Byron Bay.

“The land is six acres and is located on an elevated site with sea views,” he said.

“It’s a great investment opportunity for people looking for a high return … it’s unheard of for residential property to achieve the kind of returns we have here.”
