Some continue to receive training, especially in the public works and construction sectors. Two departments were recently involved in cleaning and clearing damage to two secondary schools in Noumea.

In Koné, young people from RSMA have been receiving public works training since March and will take exams in a few weeks. At their premises, they are trained in the reconstruction of buildings.

Therefore, they were fully prepared and last June, at the request of the armed forces, they participated in Cleaning of the Kaméré and Rivière-Salée schoolsvictims of looting since the beginning of the Noumea unrest. “We repaired the burnt classrooms to help the children return to school as soon as possible.” explained intern volunteer Yvannick.

The valuable help now enables both institutions to attempt recovery.

The reorganized conscription corps trains 600 volunteers per year in 22 different formations. The focus will now be on sectors that are critical to the reconstruction of the territory, such as security and construction.
