“Yes. Of course. You know, Dred ScottIt was one of the famous pro-slavery decisions of the Supreme Court, and I don’t think anybody wanted it to remain the law,” Vance said of the 1857 case Dred Scott v. Sanfordwhich held that enslaved black people were not U.S. citizens and therefore not protected by the Constitution.
“So I do think that often we look at these decisions and say, look, these things don’t make any sense anymore. They don’t stand up very well. They don’t address the issues that they were supposed to address. They’re clearly not constitutional. That’s the most important thing that very few people talk about.”
“So, yes, it’s ultimately a good thing,” Vance said, referring to roeAutumn.
