34-year-old American football star Kelce will make his film debut, starring opposite Niecy Nash-Betts. Lesley Manville and Courtney B. Vance The new series follows a detective (Nash-Bates) and a nun (Michaela Diamond) as they investigate a series of heinous crimes.
Although Kelsey’s character is expected to appear in every episode of the ten-episode series, his character’s identity is being kept strictly secret.
The trailer was released on Thursday (August 15) and opens with an eerie scene of a police investigation.
“I don’t know how it started,” Nash Bate’s detective says in voiceover. “It was like a hole suddenly appeared in the world, leading to the center of nothingness.”
Various other images flashed across the screen, including a hand-cranked meat grinder, nuns worshipping, and skin being sewn together.
“This killer is preaching, preaching,” another voice added. “To understand this demon, we must interpret these murders.”
At one point, Kelsey suddenly appeared and waved her hands in front of him.
“Something was happening around us,” Nash-Betts continued. “No one saw it except me.”
“A series of heinous crimes throws a small community into turmoil. Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) feels these crimes are deeply personal, as if someone or something is taunting her,” the show’s official synopsis reads. “At home, Lois struggles to cope with her strained relationship with her daughter, her husband’s long-term hospitalization, and her own inner demons. With no clues and no idea who to turn to, she enlists the help of Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and reporter for The Catholic Guardian.”
The article continues: “Sister Megan has her own difficult past and has seen the worst of humanity, but she still believes in the good in it. Louise, on the other hand, worries that the world is succumbing to evil. As Louise and Sister Megan connect the dots, they find themselves entangled in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”
Kelsey became a global superstar thanks to her high-profile relationship with Taylor Swiftjoined the series in May, a few months after signing Host Amazon Prime Video’s new Are you smarter than a fifth grader? Spin-off series, Are you smarter than celebrities?
