Libreville, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 (Gabon News) – The people of the Akanda commune celebrated their victory at the Sino-Gabonese Friendship Stadium on Sunday, August 12, after returning from Kigali (Rwanda) as part of a Republican visit to the Estuaire Province.
The Special Representative, General Jean-Claude Sipamio-Bell, thanked the Head of State on behalf of the people of Akanda for allowing the Commune of Akanda to be presented again today for its many achievements, after some grievances were raised, in particular the construction of the building which had to receive the services of the Town Hall, as well as several other buildings that had to provide administrative services.
“Mr President, we are waiting for the construction of Akanda Town Hall, the supply of vehicles, the development of cemeteries,” he said.
In his speech, the Head of State first paid tribute to former Prime Minister Léon Mebiame Mba, then announced the allocation of 1 billion (1,000,000,000) CFA francs to the Akanda City Hall, aimed at strengthening basic structures to improve the living conditions of citizens: water, electricity, hospitals, schools, etc.
“I invite you, ladies and gentlemen of the Special Representatives, to make full use of this envelope, which will allow you to strengthen the programs launched for the development of the municipalities for which you are responsible,” said General Blaise Clotaire Origi Nguema. The Head of State first went to the Akanda High School of Excellence to immerse himself in the work of this public secondary school, before continuing his visit to the commune to participate in an important popular meeting.
