New Delhi: The Japanese Embassy in India performed the Indian national anthem with vocal and instrumental music on India’s Independence Day. The staff of the Japanese Embassy wore traditional Indian costumes, held the Indian flag high, and wore beautiful tricolor shawls while singing the national anthem.
In this important year, India will celebrate the 76th anniversary of its independence and it will also be the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and India.
The embassy staff performed a group performance in front of the Bodhi tree, which symbolizes the friendship between Japan and India and is full of Tiranga enthusiasm. This magnificent tree is revered by the people.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wished India a happy 75th Independence Day and praised India’s achievements. In a statement, Albanese said he wished all those celebrating India’s Independence Day a great celebration: “All Australians applaud India’s success and the many achievements of this great country and people. We also thank the Indian Australian community for their contribution to our society, our culture, our country and the ties between our two countries.”
Albanese further said in the statement: “The rise of the world’s largest democracy and the achievements of independent India are remarkable.”
“On the first Independence Day in 1947, when Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru called on his people to plunge confidently into the adventure of the newly independent nation, the world could not have imagined that India would respond so profoundly to his call,” the Australian Prime Minister said.
Nepal’s Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka also wished India on its 75th Independence Day and extended greetings and congratulations to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Nepal’s External Affairs Ministry tweeted: “Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka extends warm greetings and congratulations to EAM @DrSJaishankar on India’s 76th Independence Day.”India and Nepal share a multifaceted and multi-sectoral development partnership that reflects the close ties between the peoples of the two countries.
US President Joe Biden said the US and India are indispensable partners and recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s “timeless message of truth and non-violence” to mark 75 years of democracy in India.
Biden said that this year the United States and India also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, stressing that the two democracies will continue to stand together to defend the rules-based order, advance a free and open Indo-Pacific region, and meet the challenges facing the world.
Biden said in a statement that as people around the world, including nearly four million proud Indian Americans, celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence on August 15, the United States joins the people of India in commemorating India’s journey to democracy, guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless ideals of truth and nonviolence.
“This year, we will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our great democracies. India and the United States are indispensable partners, and the U.S.-India strategic partnership is built on our shared commitment to the rule of law and to promoting human freedom and dignity,” he said.
He said the partnership between the two countries is further strengthened by the deep bonds between their peoples. “America’s vibrant Indian-American community makes us a more innovative, inclusive and stronger nation,” Biden said.
