Tariq Kandil, director of the Magazi Medical Center in central Gaza, said a nearby house was hit by a bomb and the medical center was severely damaged, making it the latest medical facility in Gaza to be affected by the war.
The United Nations cited Gaza’s Health Ministry in a report on Friday as saying that “around 70% of health infrastructure has been destroyed.”
No bathroom
Separately, UN spokeswoman Louise Waterridge said via video link that she had just returned to central Gaza four weeks after leaving the country.
“It’s just unbearable,” she said, describing conditions that were “seriously deteriorating.”
“There is no water, no sanitation, no food,” and people have returned to live in “empty shell” buildings.

The United Nations says much of Gaza’s population has been displaced, but the war’s aftermath has also displaced people on both sides of the Israeli-Lebanese border, with fighting between Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement and the Israeli army taking place almost daily.
This month, such exchanges have escalated further, accompanied by bellicose rhetoric.
The Israeli military said plans to launch an offensive on Lebanon had been “approved and confirmed”, while Hezbollah responded that in a full-scale conflict, no Israeli side would be spared.
