“An immediate ceasefire must be reached to free all remaining hostages, allow humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza, and make the elusive and neglected vision of long-term peace and stability a reality,” said Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate.
Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui is another hostage with American citizenship, said the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to negotiate with Hamas to bring the hostages home, and that time is running out.
“The entire senior military establishment and the intelligence community has been saying publicly for weeks and months that it is time to end the fighting in Gaza and to bring the hostages home, as many of them as possible alive,” Decker-Chen told CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
