Nursing staff are in high demand right now.

There has long been a shortage of nursing staff. in stock
There has long been a talent shortage in the nursing industry.
This is shown, for example, by the Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs’ barometer, which lists occupations with labour shortages, with nurses and community nurses often ranking high.
Worker shortages have led to wage competition among labour leasing companies and the public sector.
Passi KajalainenCEO of Dealmedi Oy, has been in the workforce rental industry for more than a decade.
Correct pricing
Karjalainen believes that if you know how to price your services correctly, you can succeed against the competition.
– When I started working ten years ago, a local nurse earned about 10 euros, Kajalainen said.
Now, he says, there are far fewer.
He gave the example of a tender in which the winning company received €2.25 per hour from local nurses’ wages.
– When the profit margin is less than three euros, it means that when one person is sick, two and a half people must be working to get the salary for one sick day, Kajalainen concluded.
18 EUR per hour
– Typically, a temporary nanny is paid around 18 euros per hour. That’s what the company pays, Kajalainen says.
According to him, more and more companies have joined the competition recently.
– This means that if you want to get these orders, you have to bid lower in the tender. Another purpose is that nurses must be paid high enough so that the nurse can be hired and she can apply for a job, Kajalainen said.
According to Karjalainen, there is a problem here.
– My profits are still too small to cover my fixed expenses anymore, of which sick leave is one of the biggest.
3,000 nurses
Pasi Karjalainen’s human resources company has grown quite large.
“At my best, I had over three thousand caregivers on my roster and a turnover of over three and a half million,” he said.
Kajalainen sold his company last year because, he said, the situation in the industry was very challenging and it was very difficult to do business.
– I created some kind of account, says Kajalainen.
Kajalainen said when he first started, there were only a few companies in the healthcare sector.
– Now I look at the tender, there are 60 companies that can participate.
For new areas
Today, Kajalainen continues to work in the health care industry on a small scale with a dozen nurses on the company’s roster.
The Karelian also houses a dentist’s office and a cleaning company.
Karjalainen said competition for caregivers was fierce and the rental profit margins for staff in the cleaning industry were better than those in the caregiver industry.
18–20 EUR
Karjalainen said that when competition for caregivers is fierce, he has to pay caregivers’ wages for about 18 to 20 hours.
Kayalainen said it was important to be able to catch caregivers when necessary.
He reminded that employers must also comply with their obligations, such as collective agreements.
– The industry has always been dynamic, and when welfare districts cut back on recruiting, the weakest companies will exit.
