Hope: Women’s Perspectives – In the first podcast, we hear about the experiences of girls who dropped out of school during the three years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. Hasna Wardag was one of those girls and she tells the story of her dying wish. He says he has been carrying pencils since school and still remembers the boxes of old books his classmates signed for him. Hasna Wardag says she hopes to hear about school opening again. Despite protests by some Afghan women and requests from international human rights groups, the Taliban has yet to open girls’ schools beyond grade 6.
