The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) rescued 58 children, including six girls, from 18 traffickers while another 133 children, including 31 girls, were kept safe and handed over to their respective parents after being separated last month.
The recovered property has been returned to the owner
During the same period, RPF personnel arrested 37 criminals, registered 53 cases and recovered stolen property worth Rs 29.58 lakh last month. About 243 items of passengers’ belongings worth over Rs 57 lakh were also recovered and handed over to the owners.
The police arrested four more criminals using CCTV and recovered stolen passenger property worth Rs 1.4 lakh. In other crimes against railway property, the police solved 41 cases and recovered stolen railway property worth Rs 1.63 lakh.
Police arrested about 27 liquor sellers and seized 129 tickets worth Rs 2.31 lakh. Police also arrested 11 persons and registered 21 cases of illegal transportation of liquor worth Rs 3.95 lakh. Police arrested eight persons and seized ganja worth over Rs 38 lakh in May, a press release said on Friday.
