This will be the 11th physical store of Apple’s official representative in Portugal. André Marques da Silva stressed that the decision to open in Alfragide was based on “strategic factors”. “Firstly, it is a very busy shopping centre, located in a strategically located area of ​​Lisbon, therefore offering good visibility and accessibility to our customers. Furthermore, Alfragide is known for having a diverse and vibrant community, a perfect fit with the profile of our customers, and this new store will bring GMS Store closer to customers, improving not only convenience but also the shopping experience”, added the CEO.

The new store, with an area of ​​about 120 square meters, aims to offer customers a wide range of Apple products and accessories, which will be available at special prices to celebrate the opening. This will help consolidate the sales trend this year, “close to last year’s figures”, and the CEO admits that “there are great expectations for the new iPhone 16 and 16 Pro, which will be launched in September”. He assures that at this time of year, with the start of back-to-school plans, “the most popular products end up being iPhones, MacBooks and iPads”, but a new trend is gaining momentum: “the smart device family, of course, not forgetting accessories such as AirPods and AppleWatch”.

With 11 physical stores and another online GMS store, what are André Marques da Silva’s expansion plans? “The idea is to continue expanding the Apple/GMS Store brand in Portugal, especially in areas where the brand does not have a physical presence,” he said.

“Our collaboration with Apple involves understanding the best locations for expansion, and in addition to the geographical scope, we cannot ignore socio-economic factors. One thing I can guarantee is this: all the stores we open will be designed in a coherent and fluid way. A blend of technology, product experience and customer well-being in the store, with relaxation areas and specific service areas, allowing customers to feel comfortable and immersed in the brand’s universe”, emphasizes the CEO.
