Minsk, July 9 / Corr. Belta /. Single property payment is not a new tax, but a new and very convenient way of paying it. This was stated by Andrei Kovalevsky, head of the main department of personal taxation at the Ministry of Taxes and Customs, at a press conference, Belarusian news agency reported.
“The peculiarity of this year is that three types of property taxes (transportation tax, land tax and real estate tax. – Notes from BELTA) will be paid in one property tax, which is not a new tax, but a new way of payment. Until 2024, an individual had to choose a specific district where the property is located, pay real estate tax, for example, a dacha in the Pukhovichi district, and then choose the Pukhovichi district again and pay real estate tax. Now all three taxes are combined into one amount”, explains Andrei Kovalevsky.
However, he clarified that the amount does not have to be paid in full immediately. Individuals can make installment payments based on their own ability.
“Allocations to the relevant budgets will be made directly by the tax authorities, which will avoid some mistakes, for example, when individuals pay taxes to the wrong budget. There will be further budget transfers, information and clarifications. Today you just need to pay the amount, and then the tax authorities will distribute it directly,” said a representative of the Ministry of Taxation and Excise.
According to him, next month the tax authorities will begin sending notices to individual taxpayers to pay property tax. As before, the notices will be sent in paper form. For those who have personal payment accounts, the notices will be sent there separately -0-.
