Police have released details of the occupants of the car that took place during yesterday’s Uppsala Second Stage.
Police said in a tweet that the people arrested in connection with the incident are:
1. Ikramur Rahman (Malay, Nooramage)
2. Ibrahim Ikram (K. Malay, M. Land of Garden)
3. Jinnah Ismail (Azad, Kandahar)
The accident happened yesterday morning on the main road between Winners Apartments in the residential area Phase 2. At the time of the accident, a speeding car lost control and hit a bicycle parked on the roadside.
Police earlier said a 25-year-old man was arrested on a court order. The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and were later arrested.
Videos circulating on social media showed the rider swerving, spinning and falling far away.
The photos show that the vehicle involved was not registered for driving in the city. The vehicle had a B-zone license plate and was registered to drive in the northern and southern provinces of Sri Lanka.
IGMH said tonight that the injured man was in a stable condition but it was understood he had suffered extensive damage to his face.
