I analysed the priorities of the foreign minister’s visit to India from different perspectives.

A weak government composed of small gangs can do whatever they want for their own benefit. At that time, there is a government in a weak position, and other countries are unreasonable. If there is a strong government, the relationship with it is always important for neighboring countries.
In this sense, India attaches great importance to the External Affairs Minister Pradeep Gyawali of the KP Sharma Oli government, which was led by a two-thirds majority. At that time, Gyawali did not meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, India did not do anything wrong in the cause.
Currently, the two largest parties in parliament – the United Marxist-Leninist Party and the Congress – have a strong government. As the foreign minister in this government, he has a majority of about two-thirds. Arju Rana Deuba found that the importance of this account in India is not uncommon.
This is also a signal from India that Nepal has a strong government and relations with it are important. This shows that there is a lot of power within the government. Etiquette is also very important in diplomacy. During this visit, the courtesy meeting between Indian Prime Minister Modi and the Foreign Minister was also held at the same location.
Except for Bhutan and Nepal, other countries in South Asia do not seem to provide a favorable environment for India.
In the past, the prime minister sat in front and the ministers of the two countries were on the same level. The scene of Foreign Minister Rana meeting with Modi as an equal is also of great significance in terms of respect.
The character and family connections of the person who represents the country also have great significance in foreign relations and diplomacy. Former Prime Minister David Cameron was the Foreign Minister in the cabinet of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. When a person who has become a powerful Prime Minister of the United Kingdom serves as Foreign Minister, his representation of the country is certainly effective. Similarly, there is a big difference in the diplomatic community’s understanding of Hillary Clinton as the US Secretary of State and others.
From this point of view, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has been the first lady of Nepal five times. It seems that his personality also makes the representation of the country shine. Similarly, he is a person with rich knowledge and engagement in the subject. That being the case, it is not to say that when choosing a foreign minister, one should choose someone with a strong personality and grasp of the subject.
Due to the geopolitical situation in South Asia, India seems to attach great importance to the Nepali Foreign Minister and the Nepali government. India has no right to participate in the kind of political events that have been happening in India’s neighboring countries for some time. That is, these events did not happen because of India.
Except for Bhutan and Nepal, other countries in South Asia do not seem to provide a favorable environment for India.
Myanmar’s military regime changed to a military government some time ago, and India is facing its challenges. Whether it is because of the Kaladan project or the buildings built by Myanmar on Coco Island, India feels uncomfortable.
Similarly, the Rajapaksa brothers in Sri Lanka also used opposition to India as their nationalism and agenda. However, when the economy collapsed and brought about political changes. India did not seem to be qualified. But when Sri Lanka collapsed, India had to rescue it.
The signal India sent by respecting the foreign minister may be to not create any problem for the present government of Nepal.
Even in Maldives, there is a president who claims to be anti-India. Even with the movement and coup happening in Bangladesh now, India does not see the qualifications. The story of Pakistan and Afghanistan is different. Now India is facing huge geopolitical pressure.
Nepal and Bhutan are the two weakest countries in India’s circumpolar region. India realized that this situation should not happen in Nepal and Bhutan. In this case, Nepal formed a strong government. Moreover, India may feel that if this government goes wrong and creates a situation like Bangladesh, it may cause problems.
In that case, India may be sending a signal by respecting the foreign minister with the aim of not causing any problem to the present government of Nepal.
There is a brilliant explanation that the Nepali Prime Minister was worried when the Foreign Minister was honored in India. However, if I understand international politics, this situation was created so that the Nepali government would not be challenged.
The honor that the foreign minister received means that the prime minister of Nepal also received this honor, and the Nepali government also received this honor. Because we are now in a period of instability within the constitution. If we enter the political chapter outside the constitution, there will be big problems.
Political and diplomatic disputes and disagreements are not permanent.
Bangladesh’s $47 billion garment industry is trying to relocate to new places after the new administration. If Nepal experiences population displacement, India will be most affected.
It is true that India’s 36th number was made earlier with KP Sharma Oli. However, that is not the case now. In fact, the reason for the deterioration of India’s relations with KP Sharma Oli was the 2072 Constitution. Moreover, this alliance was formed because we will change the contents of the same Constitution.
This is a correction that is a given. In this case, it is unlikely that the current government will find an alternative to correct the course. In this sense, India also seems to be seeking a cordial relationship with the current government.
Political and diplomatic disputes and disagreements are not permanent. That being the case, just because KP Sharma Oli was not on good terms with India yesterday, it does not mean that the situation should remain that way forever. New relations will be formed over time. That being the case, the Foreign Minister’s visit to India becomes very important for improving Sino-Indian relations.
The two countries should develop their relations with a view to the future. Disputes should be resolved in good faith through political and diplomatic means. Moreover, the two countries should not get bogged down in these issues but explore new possibilities for cooperation. It turns out that the discussions during this visit were also forward-looking. This is very positive.
Now the visit of the Nepali Prime Minister to India is likely to be scheduled, followed by the visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Nepal, and I think even during these visits the relationship will move forward in a future-oriented way.
