The heat wave is coming again this Monday!

As the new week of June begins, heat waves and hot weather continue in several parts of Algeria. The National Meteorological Office (ONM) has issued a special weather bulletin (BMS), placing Adrar, In Salah, western Tamanrasset and Qal-Baj Mokhtar on orange “heat wave” alert. This Level 2 alert foresees maximum temperatures reaching and exceeding 49°C, while minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 34 and 38°C. This BMS will remain in effect on Monday, June 24.

according to ONM Weather ForecastThe maximum temperatures today are expected to vary between 25 and 31°C in coastal areas, while in inland areas and highlands, they will fluctuate between 25 and 38°C. In the Sahara region, the temperatures will peak and fluctuate between 37 and 49°C.

The Algerian Meteorological Service also reports that scorching weather continues from the Algerian-Mali border to the central Sahara, as well as in the extreme south and Illizi. Today’s high temperature forecast highlights the importance of remaining vigilant about the possible effects of extreme heat. Therefore, you must hydrate and drink water regularly, but also avoid exposure during the hottest part of the day.

Algeria Weather on June 24: What weather should we expect?

While the heat wave persists in different parts of the country, the weather forecast for June 24 announced very different weather conditions across the country. In the western and central parts of the country, the weather will be sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day.

In the eastern region, Weather in Algeria Isolated thunderstorms are expected inland, over the Tablelands and Aureus during the afternoon and evening. These storms may produce showers and/or hail in some locations, particularly over the Aureus area.

Regarding our great South, this Monday’s weather forecast shows that skies will be frequently hazy to partly cloudy from the extreme south to Hoggar/Tassili, central Sahara and southern Oasis. Isolated thunderstorms are likely to develop in the extreme south Hoggar/Tassili area during the afternoon and evening, bringing some rainfall to a few places. The rest of the South will generally benefit from clear to partly cloudy skies.
