Tamm wins big in Poland, Glinka advances in tennis

Four Estonian tennis players will compete in the ATP Challenger 75 tournament in Grodzisk, Mazowiecki, Poland this week and next.

Daniel Glinka (ATP No. 421) and Christian Tamm (ATP No. 1076) started the men’s singles qualifying with victories. In the first round, Tamm defeated Lukas Pokorny (ATP No. 483), a Slovakian player ranked nearly 600 places higher than him, 6:4, 6:1, while Glinka defeated local player Alan Bojaski (ATP No. 1403) 6:4, 6:3. Estonian number one Mark Rahal advances directly into the main draw and will face Italian Giovanni Oladini (ATP ranking 234) in the first round.

Johannes Seemann will play in the doubles, but this time he will not play with his usual American partner Wally Sain, but with Rahal. The Estonian pair were drawn with the first-placed Polish pair Karol Drzewiecki and Piotr Matuszewski.
