The Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, announced the second online discussion on the social network X.

This discussion was held in connection with the preparation of the fourth report on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and to lay the foundation for better and more effective participation of women, girls, women’s rights and human rights activists in it.

The Afghan Embassy in Geneva wrote on its front Twitter account on Saturday that the discussion would take place online at 8:30 p.m. today, Afghanistan time.

Afghanistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva called for participation in the preparation of the fourth periodic report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women to provide documentation on the Taliban’s repression of women.

The appeal calls on all Afghan women, human rights defenders, national and international civil society and women’s rights organizations, and international non-governmental organizations to provide information, documents and evidence in this regard.

The delegation’s fourth periodic report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women will be presented at the Human Rights Council session in February 2025.
