Just last Sunday, a SpiceJet flight from New Delhi to Bengaluru was delayed for nearly 12 hours. Subsequently, another flight from Bengaluru to Kolkata also reported delays from the Kempegowda International Airport, leaving several passengers stranded at the airport.
The SpiceJet SG 8531 flight, which was scheduled to depart from Bengaluru to Kolkata at 10.50 am, was delayed for several hours, leading to a heated argument between passengers and airline staff at the airport.
Passengers said the airline kept delaying their flights, leading to arguments with airline staff.
Airline officials confirmed that the delay was caused due to late arrival of the aircraft being operated in Bengaluru.
A SpiceJet spokesperson said: “SpiceJet flight SG 8531 from Bengaluru to Kolkata on July 7 was delayed due to late arrival of the operating aircraft at Bengaluru. The delay was due to a technical issue encountered by the aircraft while circling before Delhi which was resolved in time before departing for Bengaluru.”
The airline said it deeply regretted the inconvenience caused to its passengers.
