The National Meteorological Bureau issued a special weather forecast for the capital.

As a result, between 10 am on July 8, 2024 and 10 am on July 10, 2024, the Bucharest area will experience hot weather, with high levels of heat discomfort and the Temperature and Humidity Index (ITU ) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The sky will be mostly clear, with light and mild winds.

The highest temperature on Monday will be around 37 degrees, and on Tuesday it will be 38…39 degrees. The lowest temperature will be 18…22 degrees.

Yellow code for hot weather covers most of the country

On Monday, July 8, the heat wave will slightly expand and intensify in Krisana, Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrudja mainland and the southern half of Moldova, where heat waves and high thermal discomfort will occur. The maximum temperature will be 35…37 degrees, and the temperature and humidity index (ITU) will reach and locally slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

Note: The heat wave will continue through the weekend and will gradually continue to expand and intensify slightly across the country.

The National Weather Service will update this information as the weather phenomena evolve and intensify.

Tuesday

The heat wave will continue, with hot weather and increased heat discomfort in most parts of the country. The sky will be changeable, with temporary clouds in the afternoon, and there will be light showers, discharges and slightly strengthened winds in local areas of the Western Carpathians, the western part of the Southern Carpathians and the northern part of the Eastern Carpathians. The maximum temperature will usually be between 32 and 38 degrees, and the minimum temperature will be 11…12 degrees in the depressions of the Eastern Carpathians and 23…26 degrees on the coast and in the western mountains.
