Communications cables leading to a Norwegian air force base have been severed in a suspected sabotage attack, with Norwegian police convinced someone cut the cables “deliberately”.
The cable damage was discovered in April and reported to the police. The case is being investigated by the local procuratorate forward– The newspaper said.
Police have not identified any suspects yet.
The damaged cables lead to Evans Airfield, which belongs to the Norwegian Air Force. Located north of the Arctic Circle, the base is vital to the air force. Norway’s Poseidon-8 reconnaissance aircraft squadron and F-35 fighter jets are stationed there, among others.
