A powerful car bomb exploded on Sunday evening in a crowded cafe in the center of the Somalia capital Mogadishu where people had gathered to watch the European Football Championship final, Somali media reported, citing a police representative.

Five prisoners believed to be members of the group were killed in a gunfight on Saturday while trying to escape from Mogadishu’s largest prison. Three prison guards were killed and 18 others were wounded, according to the prison department.
