Apia, 1 July 2024 – The Soifua Manu’a Mission Health Partnership between the Samoan Government and the U.S. Embassy has been revived to support healthcare initiatives across Samoa.
The collaboration, which will run from July 1 to 11, aims to promote healthcare access and community health across Samoa, with five Samoa hospitals partnering with the Mission and working closely with the Ministry of Health.
The Soifua Manuya Mission today launched a free outreach programme on Manono Island to provide residents with advanced health services including medical consultations, screenings and preventive care.
Additionally, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training courses will be delivered in partnership with the Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Agency. The project will enhance emergency response capabilities across Samoa and equip professionals and volunteers to respond to emergencies.
“We are delighted that Mission Soifua Manu’a is returning to Samoa and working with the Samoan Government on these important healthcare initiatives,” said Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Noriko Horiuchi.
“By working together, we seek to make a lasting impact on public health, empower medical professionals, and support communities in achieving healthier, happier lives.”
