The St. Lucia Tourism Authority was honored to participate in the CAPA Airline Leaders Summit, which was held in Trinidad on August 22-23, focusing on the Latin America and Caribbean region. St. Lucia representatives included Air Transport Committee Chairman Mario Reyes and Caribbean Events and Sports Marketing Manager Christopher Gustave.

Latin America and the Caribbean is recognized as one of the fastest growing regions in the global aviation industry. However, this growth is increasingly concentrated in intercontinental and domestic markets. The summit highlighted the challenges posed by different regulatory standards, competition approaches and aviation policies in the region.

The conference provided a platform to discuss how regional connectivity can be improved amidst these different approaches and government shifts. The insights gained will be critical in fostering a more united and efficient aviation development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key topics covered include:

  1. Technology and Distribution: Adopting a customer-centric retail approach to enhance the travel experience.
  2. Caribbean Marketplace: Exploring the Future of Regional Tourism.
  3. Sustainability: Accelerate the transition to new energy and support environmentally friendly practices in the aviation industry.
