Marseille: Singaporean world champion kitesurfer Maximilian Maeder will have to wait longer to compete for an Olympic medal as the men’s final on Thursday (Aug 8) was postponed.

The 17-year-old finished second in his first and only race of the day, having competed in six races in total. The remaining races were postponed until Friday due to a lack of wind.

Austrian Valentin Bontus won the event, with Italian Riccardo Pianosi third and overall winner Toni Vodisek fourth.
