Shockingly and movingly, a dove appeared on stage during a candlelight memorial service at the Masinta Stadium in Lilongwe, leading many to believe that the spirit of the late former Vice President Saulos Chilima had arrived.

The memorial service, organised by the Lilongwe UTM Youth Ambassadors Organisation, comes exactly one month after Chilima tragically lost his life in a plane crash on June 10, 2024.

Hundreds of people attended the event, holding candles and lights to commemorate his and the eight other victims’ achievements.

As the ceremony progressed, a black and white dove suddenly appeared on the stage, flapping its wings and gazing at the crowd.

The air was filled with exclamations and whispers, many of whom were convinced that the dove symbolized the presence of Chilima.

The appearance of the pigeon shocked, surprised, comforted and brought tears to many people’s eyes.

It was seen as a testament to Chilima’s enduring influence and a sign that he will continue to live on in the hearts of his admirers.

The memorial service included tributes, speeches and performances to celebrate Chilima’s life and impact.

The presence of the dove is a poignant reminder of his lasting influence and the hope he brought to others.

As the candles and lights flickered, the presence of the doves seemed to assure those gathered that Chilima’s spirit lives on, continuing to inspire and unite the people of Malawi and beyond.
