Shillong Lottery is a lottery game where tickets can be purchased in denominations ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 100. Ticket sales start at 10 am from Monday to Sunday. Players have to guess the number of arrows shot by 50 archers in the first and second rounds at the Shillong Polo Ground within two minutes, with a maximum of 30 and 20 respectively. There are about 5,000 ticket counters in Meghalaya spread across 11 districts.
During the day, players must guess the last two digits of the total number of arrows shot and hit the target. The person who guesses the correct number is the winner. Every day, 50 archers shoot 30 arrows in the first round and only 20 arrows in the second round.
