Kathmandu. The film “Sati Devi” was ready for release since Friday and premiered on Tuesday night. A large number of film and media workers attended the award ceremony held at a cinema in the capital.
Director Laxman Subedi, actors Mallika Mahat, Sandeep Babu Lohani and other cast and crew attended the premiere. The film received a good response at its premiere.
Audiences who watched the film at the premiere said that the film conveyed a social message supporting gender equality. They appreciated the artistic aspect and praised the performance.
Mallika plays the lead role in the film directed by Laxman Subedi. She plays Sati Devi Adhikari, a village girl from Ramjung. The film is based on the ups and downs of a love relationship between a father and daughter and a woman who fights against the patriarchal mindset of the society.
Malika is joined by Ramesh Budhathoki, Bholaraj Sapkota, Kuldeep Adhikari, Sandeep Babu Lohani Srijana Adhikari, Manisha Sapkota, Sujita Sivakoti, Tulsi Shrestha, Ishwari Singh, Sandesh Limbu, Pawan KC, Jagdish Adhikari.
Sridevi, Dilasa and Sara Subedi are the producers of the film starring Dilasa and Sara. The film is jointly produced with Dilasha Kreisan and California-based Golden State Film Productions LLC, with the screenplay and dialogues being written by Subedi.
