Satellite images show replicas of US fifth-generation aircraft in Chinese desert, news reports say Business Insider.

The planes, along with a runway that appeared to have visible signs of an explosion, suggest China may be using the area for target practice. This is not the first time something like this has happened in China.

There appeared to be about 20 aircraft near the building and three more near the runway. Some of the machinery was covered.

According to Business Insider, six of the aircraft resemble the U.S. Air Force’s F-22, and the others look a bit like the P-8A Poseidon and the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, but it’s hard to be sure.

BI said the latest satellite images from late May showed clear F-35 aircraft.

Satellite images appear to show that China has used the aircraft and the area for target practice. Traces of explosions can be seen at the other end of the runway and some aircraft appear to be damaged. This has not been seen in photos of the area from a few years ago.
