The sixtieth edition of the “Festival of the Plautus” has been offering theatrical art to the City of Sarsina (FC) every summer for more than sixty years. The 2024 program includes 15 events, 6 of which take place outside the Arena of Plautina and 2 of which are dedicated to families and children inside the Fabulinus, the “Sarsina Children’s Theater Festival”, jointly initiated by Valentina Donati, Antonio Salerno and Valentina Santi. The latter choice has the strong support of the Municipality and the Artistic Director Eduardo SirawoIt not only brings young people closer to the theatre, but also creates cultural and beautiful moments for parents and children to experience together. Piazzetta Lucio Pisone, adjacent to the famous Piazza Prato, will be transformed into an open-air theatre for this event, offering visitors the opportunity to visit the historic centre. The Festival’s commitment remains unchanged and will continue to favour ancient drama, classical theatre repertoire. The protagonists of the billboards are Calvino, Machiavelli, Aristophanes, Euripides, Sophocles, Goldoni, Ionesco, Petrolini and Tito Maggio Prato, the “master of the house”. These are accompanied by theatrical languages ​​that owe much to ancient theatre, such as comedy, the art of pantomime and the Fabulinus show, curated by Trame – Teatro e Musica and specifically for the little ones.

Saturday August 3 9.30pm Sarsina, Arena Plautina: “Scrooge” of Titus Matthews Plautus Directed by Carlo Emilio Lerici.

Tuesday August 6 9.30pm Sarsina, Arena Plautina: “The King is Dead” of Eugene IonescoDirected by Maurizio Scaparo, starring Eduardo Siravo, Isabel Rucinova and Gabriela Casali.

Thursday August 8 9.30pm National premiere of Sarsina, Arena Plautina: “Chichiniola” of Ettore Petrolinidirected by Massimo Venturillo.
