Russian hackers have gained access to some customers’ emails. Microsoft warn.

Last November, Microsoft’s email network was hacked, and customer emails fell into the hands of unknown parties. According to Microsoft, the attack was carried out by the Russian Midnight Blizzard group, which has ties to the Russian government. The group is also known by names such as Apt29 and Cozy Bear.
When the data breach was revealed in January, Microsoft said at the time that the attack was limited to its personnel. Now it appears that the scale of the attack is even larger than expected.
Microsoft has sent emails this week to its customers whose emails were involved in a data breach. The customers include corporate customers who sent emails to Microsoft. The company declined to comment in more detail to Bloomberg about which corporate customers were victims of the data breach.
