In the Krasnodar Territory, the implementation of an investment project to create an assembly plant for Belarusian buses and electric buses has been suspended. Vedomosti Yug learned about this from the region’s Ministry of Industrial Policy.
According to the Ministry of Industry, the investor should be Dealer Center South LLC, based in Krasnodar. The reason for the suspension of the project is the changes in the government decree “On recycling fees” that will come into effect in 2024, as well as the increase in the coefficient for calculating the fees associated with putting vehicles into circulation in Russia.
“This makes the planned buses and electric buses uncompetitive compared to existing manufacturers due to high costs,” the Ministry of Industrial Policy said in a statement.
The head of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko that such a work is planned for June 2023. It is planned to assemble buses that run on gas engine fuel and electric buses.
According to the SPARK-Interfax system, Dealer Center Yug LLC was registered in Krasnodar in 2009. The sole owner and general manager is Gennady Kozlikin. According to the company’s website, it is the official supplier of passenger, freight and special equipment to the Minsk Automobile Plant, Belavtomaz and Belkommunmash.
