A 45-year-old lawyer was arrested by the Rimini State Police for drug possession and violations of health protection and anti-doping regulations in sports activities.
This activity follows the investigative takeover of the Flying Squad and the constant monitoring of the areas most affected by nightlife between Riccione and Rimini, with the aim of combating the drug trade.
Investigators confirmed the information they had about a lawyer from Rimini, a man who had access to large quantities of drugs and who was trading in a well-known nightclub in Riccione during the busiest night, Sunday 11. In August 2024, as part of a specific service carried out in the nightclub, they noticed him while he approached other subjects with quick touches, fiddling with the material in the small bag he had on his shoulder, in order to suggest that he was carrying out drug sales.
He was immediately examined and found to be carrying multiple doses of ecstasy and ketamine. The subsequent search was extended to the home and more narcotic substances of various types were seized, some of which were cleverly hidden in the background of the coffee table: 3 kg of cannabis, approximately 1 kg of marijuana, 100 grams of cocaine, 74 ecstasy tablets, 11 grams of ecstasy powder, 5 grams of ketamine, 59 bottles and 114 tablets of various anabolic and stimulant substances, as well as a large amount of packaging material, two scales, a thermal vacuum sealer and approximately 22,000 euros in cash. In addition, dozens of narcotic tests were found in the house, which helped to identify the type of substances used.
The aforementioned person was subsequently arrested on the spot and placed under house arrest pending verification of the preventive measures subsequently taken.
During the police operation, as a precautionary measure, license holders of sporting weapons were arrested for possession of 39 TULPS, legally owned weapons, a Beretta 9×21 caliber pistol and a 12-gauge Magnum shotgun.
