Apia, Samoa – September 1, 2024 – Retail prices of petrol and diesel increased in September, while those of kerosene declined.

Petrol prices rose by 6.6 shillings to $3.17 per litre from $3.11 last month, diesel prices rose by 1.8 shillings to $3.27 per litre from $3.25 per litre, while kerosene prices fell by 1.8 shillings to $2.86 per litre from $2.88 per litre.

The new price announced by the Finance Minister last night is based on the July Average Platts Singapore Price (MOPS).

The minister said a degree of stability had been restored to crude and refined oil markets, with adverse political and economic forecasts appearing to offset each other.

He said it can be expected that this price stability may continue, at least in the short term.
