According to Elliott Friedman Sports Networkthis Detroit Red Wings Signed the forward to a two-year contract worth $2.275 million per year Joe Veleno.
Last year in his fourth season with the Red Wings, Villeno had 12 goals and 16 assists for a total of 28 points in 80 games. Villeno has missed just three games over the past two seasons and has 20 points in 81 games in the 2022-23 campaign.
The 24-year-old Montreal native has totaled 30 goals and 34 assists for 64 points in 232 games since his NHL debut.
The Red Wings drafted Veleno with the 30th overall pick in the first round in 2018. He was a restricted free agent before signing.
