The Qatar Financial Markets Authority has unveiled the logo for the 50th meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which will be held in Doha in May 2025. This was the conclusion reached at the end of the organization’s 49th annual meeting, which took place over three days in the Greek capital Athens, where the Authority led an official delegation led by CEO Dr. Tami bin Ahmed Al-Binali.
The meeting officially announced that Doha would host the 50th meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). The Qatar Financial Markets Authority had previously submitted a request to host the 50th Annual Meeting of ISESCO. The election of the host country was voted on by the members of the organization, and Qatar received a majority of votes.
The logo of the 50th ISESCO session reflects Doha’s main landmarks, the great urban development that Qatar has witnessed and the country’s unique maritime heritage.
Considered one of the most important conferences in the world, the Annual Meeting discusses all areas related to the reality and future of capital markets and the international institutions that regulate these markets.
In his speech, Dr. Tammy bin Ahmed Al Binali, CEO of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, expressed his delight at the confidence that the organization’s members have placed in the Qatar Financial Markets Authority’s choice of Doha to host the organization’s 50th meeting during May 11-13, 2025. He pointed out that the Doha meeting will serve as an extension of the ongoing annual meetings and congresses under the umbrella of IOSCO to discuss the reality and future of capital markets and all progress and developments related to them.
Dr. Al-Binali stressed that the Doha Conference will provide an opportunity for ISESCO members to gather again and continue to shed light on pressing issues related to financial market activities in the Member States, foremost among which is the theme of innovation, where Artificial Intelligence seems to be leading the major transformation that financial markets are going through, and how this advanced technology can be used to serve the financial sector and bring its performance to an advanced level, which will bring more growth, stability and sustainability to the investment environment.
It is noteworthy that on the last day of the IOSCO conference, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority organized an accompanying exhibition, during which presentations were presented on the tourism industry in Qatar and its most important tourist attractions and sights, as well as the role of the authority as the regulator of financial markets. The supervision, monitoring and regulatory body for Qatar’s capital markets distributed presentations in this regard to the participants and answered their questions and inquiries.
Hundreds of financial market experts and officials from around the world will attend the 50th Annual Conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
The conference will be held in Doha next year to mark the 20th anniversary of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, which was established by Law No. (33) of 2005.
The conference is expected to feature in-depth discussions and open working sessions on a range of issues and topics in the capital markets and finance sector, exploring opportunities and latest innovations, strengthening cooperation in the field of global financial markets, and ways to address challenges facing these markets, such as: sustainable financing, new technologies, financial technology, cryptocurrencies, digital assets, financial stability, investor protection and developing strategies to maintain sustainable development of financial markets.
