The Punjab government has successfully fulfilled its promise to provide electric and petrol bikes to students as part of the Chief Minister’s Youth Programme.

The project aims to improve students’ mobility and alleviate daily transportation difficulties.

The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide convenient and affordable transport options to students.

As part of the project, the government has ensured that all students can avail the bicycle instalment plan.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed the government’s commitment to supporting students and said the provision of bicycles will go a long way in easing the burden of their daily commute and help them save time and money.

“The project will create convenience for students and ensure savings in daily living expenses. Ease of travel and time saved will improve academic performance,” Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said.

For students without parental support, the program waives the parental sponsorship requirement, making the program more inclusive.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to shift Punjab towards electric transport and set up solar charging stations across the province.

The government will provide battery insurance and warranties for e-bikes to ensure students have a reliable and sustainable form of transport.

In addition, all bicycle users must wear helmets and protective gear to ensure road safety.
