The parliamentary candidates include former Lithuanian army commander Lieutenant General Valdas Tutkus, former MP Mindaugas Bastis who violated the constitution six years ago, lawyer Risadas Burda, entrepreneur and activist Meda Sabuniene, lawyer Erikas Pavlovichus.
As previously announced, the political force led by Puidoks will participate in the parliamentary elections in October together with the “Alliance for Peace” led by Viktor Uspaskić, who returned to the Labor Party. In addition to these two parties, the list will also include representatives of the Remaica Party led by Irena Strazinskaite Glinski.
As announced in a press release, the election plan was also approved at the Liberal Democratic Party Congress. It calls on the Lithuanian people to defend freedom of expression, stop public incitement to hatred and false information, and “transform LRT into an objective public broadcaster.”
The family policy aims to strengthen traditional family values and increase the birth rate by reducing taxes on families. The plan mentions the need to stop the destruction of the education system when decisions are based on arithmetic principles and 50% increase in teachers’ salaries.
The parliamentary election will be held on October 13 this year.
