A native of Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Peramsethi is the founder and medical director of the Crimson Care Network, a local group of medical professionals.
An Indian-origin doctor was shot dead in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA on Friday. Dr Ramesh Peramsethi, a well-known doctor who ran several hospitals in the country, died on the spot.
A native of Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Peramsetty is the founder and medical director of Crimson Care Network, a local group of medical professionals. He is widely acclaimed for his contributions to healthcare and has practiced as a physician in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Care Network team expressed condolences on the doctor’s passing and said it will continue to honor Peramsetty’s legacy. “As many of you know by now, we have learned of the passing of Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty. The Peramsetty family has asked that we grant them privacy as they mourn his passing. They have received an outpouring of love and faith. We will continue to honor his memory, just as he would have wanted us to. Thank you for your understanding,” Crimson Care Network said in a Facebook post.
“Please continue to keep Peram Seti and the Crimson Care Network family in your prayers as we navigate this challenging time. Our team is prepared to make additional statements in the coming days. We will continue to honor his legacy. Our clinics will remain open during the transition,” it added.
Who is Dr. Peramsethi?
According to his Wedmed page, Dr. Peramsetty graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in 1986 and has 38 years of medical experience. He specializes in emergency medicine and family medicine and has practiced in Tuscaloosa and four other locations. He is also affiliated with a regional medical center and holds a diploma in child health (DCH).
According to NDTV, in addition to his medical work, Dr. Peramsetty donated Rs 1.4 crore to the Menakuru High School in Andhra Pradesh, where he studied, and also funded the construction of a Sai temple in his village.
According to some local reports, a street in Tuscaloosa was named after Dr. Pelamsetti in recognition of his key role in the medical field. Dr. Pelamsetti also played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic, for which he received several awards. He leaves behind a wife, two sons and two daughters, all of whom have settled in the United States.
