Singapore: Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has written to the Thai Prime Minister Imperial Commissioner Congratulations to her on her appointment.

In a letter to Ms Petongtan dated August 18, Mr Wong noted that Singapore and Thailand will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

“I also hope to make my first visit to Thailand soon,” Mr Huang wrote. He was sworn in as Prime Minister on May 15.

Joshua Wong said he believed that the relationship between Singapore and Thailand would continue to strengthen in the future.

“Singapore and Thailand have a long-standing and multifaceted relationship underpinned by solid economic ties, strong defence cooperation, and regular political and people-to-people exchanges,” he wrote.

“This strong partnership was built by generations of leaders and has only grown in size over the years.”

The two countries continue to explore new areas of cooperation, including clean energy, sustainability and the digital economy.

“As like-minded partners and neighbours, Singapore and Thailand also work closely together in multilateral forums, including ASEAN,” Wong added.

Joshua Wong congratulated Ms. Petongdan and expressed his confidence that under her leadership, Thailand will continue to progress and prosper.

“I wish you all the best in your new term,” he said.
