ST. KITTS AND NEVIS (WINN) – The Prime Minister of Nevis and Minister of Tourism of the Nevis Island Authority, Mark Brantley, declared the 10th anniversary of the Nevis Mango Festival a complete success, according to a release from the Nevis Island Authority (NIA).
The four-day festival ends on Sunday, July 7, with an event called “The Love of Mangoes” at Malcolm Guichard Leisure Park.
Prime Minister Brantley said this year’s event lived up to expectations.
“We held the event for four days. People came from different places to attend this food festival. It has become a major event in the region.”
On the final day, 50 chef stations offered sample dishes and drinks with mango flavours, as well as folkloric performances, DJ sets, chef competitions, a kids’ corner and a VIP Mango Lounge. The festivities ended with a concert showcasing local artists.
Attendance matched 2023’s record-breaking crowds, and the additional entrances reduced wait times and enhanced the overall experience.
“Last year there were some issues. We fixed those issues and this year the reviews for our last event on Sunday were very good. I believe we had a lot of fun. So I thank the public, thank everyone and thank God for the perfect weather. We will now start planning for next year’s Nevis Mango Festival.
“We look forward to welcoming people from all over to enjoy the taste of mangoes, the magic of mangoes. That’s our goal, and we look forward to having you join us next year to celebrate the Nevis Mango Festival,” said Premier Brantley.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the organisers, the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA), and everyone involved in making the 2024 Mango Festival a reality.
