Adolescent girls aged 11 and above are vaccinated against cervical cancer. The National Committee on Women’s Affairs and Family Population Policy held a meeting to discuss reproduction, health care and strengthening measures.
According to experts, about 300,000 people die from cervical cancer every year. Doctors say: “The only way to prevent this disease is a vaccine.”
This year, 175 people are scheduled to be vaccinated. This is a voluntary and free treatment. As part of Reproductive Health Week, clinics across the country held open days and received more than 120,000 consultations.
Shakizat Halykova, Director of the Department for Maternal Health Protection at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
– The vaccine is given in 175 countries around the world. Countries that have introduced the vaccine now have accurate figures. Reduce the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer. That’s why we promote it. We say this to all parents. To prevent cervical cancer, girls should be vaccinated from the age of 11.
