Championship club Burnley have appointed Scott Parker as their new manager, the club said on Friday.
Parker has twice led Fulham and Bournemouth to promotion to the Premier League, and most recently coached Belgian side Club Brugge in the 2022-23 season.
“For us, being successful this year is the most important thing,” former England midfielder Parker told the club’s website.
“We have to win games and create a team that the fans and the club can be proud of. This team can represent every one of them in that regard and that is our goal.”
Burnley finished 19th in the Premier League last season and were eventually relegated, the club’s second relegation from the top flight in three seasons.
“We are very pleased to welcome Scott to Burnley Football Club,” said club chairman Alan Pace. “His vision for the future aligns with our goals and ambitions to return to the Premier League as soon as possible.”
