Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, the 35-year-old Ivorian sprinter and African record holder for the 100m (10.72 seconds), had a tough night in the women’s 100m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Despite injuring her adductor muscle after the semifinals, she was determined to compete and bring glory to her home country of Ivory Coast.

Unfortunately, she finished 8th with a time of 13.31 seconds.

After being evacuated for observation, additional tests are planned to assess the severity of her injuries, which make her doubtful for the 200m preliminaries and the women’s 4x100m relay.
