Butwal, July 12. One child drowned and another child went missing in the Tinau river in Butwal.

Two children who were visiting relatives were swept away by floodwaters in the river in Butwal sub-metropolitan area on Friday. The body of Vivash Khatri, a 12-year-old boy from Bareng, was found on the river bank below where he was swimming, said Bijayraj Pandit, deputy commissioner of police in Butwal district.

Vivash Khatri, who came to Budwal Srijanagar with his mother, and eight-year-old Bipran Pandey, who lived in Senamaina, were swept away in the Tinau river.

According to the Butwal district police, the two children are the sons of sisters. After seeing two of the three people who went swimming being swept away by the river, another child who went with them informed his family.

According to DSP Pandit, the search is on for Vipran Pandey who was missing in the river.
