Nine children were injured when a tin cover fell off a terrace of a building in Upavan area of Thane city on Friday night, a civic official said.
He said five children, who were playing football on the lawn beside the Gawan Baug building, were seriously injured and were rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital.
He added that the children were ninth and 10th graders.
When contacted, officials of the Vatak Nagar police station said they were not aware of the details of the incident.
